Kelly has been involved in guard for the past 15 years and baton twirling for 20 years. She graduated from Wapakoneta High School and the University of Toledo where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Instrumental Music and Theory and received her Reading Endorsement from Wright State University where she is also working on her Master's degree in Intervention Specialty. Kelly has twirled baton since the age of 10 and has won a number of state, regional, and national titles including the 1998 Miss College Majorette. She is now a teacher and judge for the World Twirling Association and Twirling Unlimited. In high school, Kelly was one of the feature twirlers and a member of the color guard. She also marched with Nuance Winter Guard and while in college she was a member of the BGSU Color Guard and Twirling Line. Kelly was the instructor for Wapakoneta Middle and High School color guards for five years and founded the Wapakoneta Winter Guard which received 1st in the Junior Flag Line division and 2nd in the Senior Flag Line division at MEPA Championships in 2006. Kelly is now the instructor for the award winning Marion Local High School Color Guard out of Maria Stein, Ohio and the Lima Shawnee Color Guard out of Lima, Ohio. She is also writing fall guard shows for Wapakoneta High School and Fort Recovery High School When Kelly is not working with guard she is one of the Reading Intervention teachers at Maplewood Intermediate School.
